Potluck Community Guidelines & Safety Policy

Potluck exists to help people organize and participate in real-world gatherings with friends, communities, and colleagues. To keep the platform safe and welcoming for everyone, all users must follow these Community Guidelines.
These guidelines apply to all activity on the Potluck platform and to conduct associated with events organized through the platform.
Potluck is a technology platform that enables users to organize gatherings. Potluck does not organize, host, supervise, or control events and is not responsible for the actions of hosts, guests, or attendees. Hosts and attendees are solely responsible for their behavior and compliance with applicable laws.

Respectful Behavior
All members of the Potluck community must treat others with respect and dignity.
The following behavior is prohibited:
• Harassment or bullying
• Hate speech or discriminatory conduct
• Threats of violence
• Intimidation or coercion
• Stalking or unwanted contact
Discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.
Event Safety
Hosts and guests are responsible for ensuring that events are conducted safely and lawfully.
Hosts should:
• Provide accurate information about the event
• Communicate clearly with attendees
• Follow local laws and regulations
• Take reasonable steps to maintain a safe environment
Potluck does not supervise events and cannot guarantee the safety of participants. Users attend events at their own risk.
Alcohol and Substance Use
If alcohol is served at an event, hosts and attendees must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Hosts are responsible for ensuring:
• Compliance with legal drinking age requirements
• Responsible consumption of alcohol
• A safe environment for guests
Illegal drugs or unlawful substance use at events organized through Potluck is prohibited.
Weapons and Dangerous Conduct
Weapons of any kind are prohibited at events organized through Potluck.
This includes firearms, explosives, or any item intended to cause harm.
Threatening behavior, intimidation, or acts of violence are strictly prohibited.
Illegal Activities
Users may not use Potluck to organize or promote activities that violate applicable laws.
Examples include:
• Fraud or scams
• Pyramid schemes
• Illegal gambling
• Sale or distribution of illegal substances
• Any criminal activity
Events that promote unlawful activity may be removed immediately.
Public Events
Potluck allows users to create both private and public events.
Hosts who create public events are responsible for ensuring that the event is conducted safely and lawfully and that guests receive accurate information about the event.
User Content
Users may upload photographs and other content related to events.
Content must not include:
• Illegal material
• Harassment or hate speech
• Pornographic or explicit material
• Content that violates the rights of others
Users must have the necessary rights to upload content they share on the platform.
Reporting Violations
If you believe a user or event violates these guidelines, please report it to:
support@potluck.us
Reports may include concerns about:
• Safety risks
• Harassment
• Fraudulent events
• Illegal activity
Enforcement
Potluck reserves the right to investigate potential violations of these guidelines.
When violations occur, Potluck may take action including:
• Issuing warnings
• Removing content or events
• Suspending accounts
• Permanently banning users
Potluck may take these actions at its sole discretion.
Emergency Situations
If you believe there is an immediate risk to someone's safety, contact local emergency services.
Potluck should not be used as an emergency response system.
Changes to These Guidelines
Potluck may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Website.
